The Oliver Miller Homestead
About Us
The Oliver Miller Homestead is a historic landmark and pioneer site located in South Park, Pennsylvania where the first shots of the Whilskey Rebellion were fired in the 1790s. The OMH is dedicated to preserving its legacy as well as informing the public of its historic relavance. The OMH property is made up of the stone manse, woodworking shop, black smith, log cabin, barn, spring house, beehive oven, firepit, and gardens.
The homestead is open every Sunday from May til December from 1:30p.m. - 4:30 p.m. There are special events once or twice a month where historic demonstrations, special activites, and presentations are given. On nonevent Sundays the homestead is open for regular tours and viewings of the property. We also have school groups come to tour the OMH and participate in local events. We ask for a $2 perperson donation at the entrance gate for event weekends and $1 for nonevent weekends. There is free parking.
The OMH is made up of all volunteers who are passionate about history, learning, and the community. OMH is always looking for new members; just ask any docent for information about joining or look at it under our join tab located under the MORE link at the top of the page.
